StuffIt Expander is a free archive decompressor. This utility allows you to decompress archives that were compressed using over 25 file compression formats, including StifX, ZIP and RAR. It is more likely that you will only need to have this program installed to decompress any archive file you download from the web, or receive ones attached to your emails. Each time you run the program, it will scan your drives for archive files and then will display a list of the found archives, in order to ease the management of those files. The found archives will be identified with different icons, according to the format used to build them. You will be able to see the content of the archive, and extract the files in any folder you want. Stuffit Expander allows you to mark a group of archive files and extract them all in a batch mode. This free utility will allow you only to decompress archive files. You won´t be able to compress anything by using Stuffit Expander. You will need to upgrade to Stuffit if you want to do so, but that is not a free utility.
